James Whittle

Director, International Standards Payments UK

Responsible for setting standards policy and strategy and representing the UK on payments in Europe and globally. Working with a wide range of stakeholders to share payments knowledge and expertise James also leads the International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO) on ISO 20022. He also works closely with SWIFT and other industry standards bodies across the world. James has worked across a number of functions, including senior roles in industry standards, government engagement and regulation. Previously he worked within the retail sector, developing solutions for cross border trade and supply chain efficiency. James holds a Bachelor's degree in Engineering and a Master's degree in Organisational Behaviour.
