Björn Fischer

Björn holds a Master of Science in Statistics from the Ludwig-Maximilian University of Munich (1993). He has worked for the European Commission and the Deutsche Bundesbank before joining the European Central Bank in 1998. Björn held positions in a number of business areas at the ECB since then, including in Monetary Policy (Head of Monetary Analysis), Research and Statistics. Currently, Björn is Senior Adviser in the Directorate General Statistics and Programme Manager of the European System of Central Banks (ESCB) project on the Integrated Reporting Framework This project seeks to integrate existing ESCB statistical data requirements for banks as far as possible into a single, standardised reporting framework applicable across the euro area. This is considered a first step towards a wider integration of statistical, prudential and resolution reporting of banks in Europe. Björn is married and has 2 kids.
