Steve has been focused on designing & delivering analytics platforms for over 20 years. In this time he's worked across most sectors from big tech, FSIs and central government to localised NGOs, telecoms, health care and everything in between. Passionate about the value of data in enabling organisations to achieve their strategic aims, Steve is highly valued for his ability to understand business strategy and convert it into pragmatic technology roadmaps enabling him to drive technical delivery aligned with commercial objectives. He does this through leveraging his strong communication & engagement skills which facilitate informed decision making at the most senior levels in even the most complex technology environments. In 2017 Steve left life in the trenches to join Microsoft as a Senior Data Platform Architect helping their largest customers realise value from the Microsoft & Azure Data Platforms. In 2022 a customer introduced Steve to the Starburst Analytics Engine and he immediately recognised the game changing solution it brings to some of the toughest data challenges in the modern analytics landscape. Deployed in 7 out of 10 of the world's largest banks, Starburst has raised +$400m in funding since its incorporation in 2017 and is one of the fastest growing start-ups in the data & analytics space.
