Chief Data Officer, Global Risk and Finance HSBC

Rick’s remit covers the control and management of Risk and Finance data from 69 countries.  With 25 years’ of data experience, Rick started with Andersen Consulting (now Accenture) building databases for the Trading and then Surveillance systems for the London Stock Exchange. Having got the data bug, over the years he acquired deep technical skills working across the financial services sector and helped established Accenture’s Information Management Services Organisation before moving to KPMG where he built-up and ran their Financial Services Data Team.  Now at HSBC Rick has established a combined Data Management utility that support the Bank as a whole, while serving the data management needs of Global Risk and Global Finance in a highly federated and complex international financial services organisation.
